Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is New Jersey Angler University?

New Jersey Angler University is an ongoing series of professionally-produced, fully-illustrated webinars specifically designed to help you shorten your learning curve and catch more fish. Think of them as seminars that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. They’re fact filled, interactive, and most of all, fun!

Where is New Jersey Angler University located?

Classes (sessions) are conducted directly over the internet. You don’t have to drive anywhere. Enjoy these fun and informative sessions from the comfort of your own home!

Who can attend?

Anyone with a computer, internet access, and a standard web browser can attend the sessions. No special technology is required, and any software updates that might be needed are downloaded seamlessly within seconds after you register for a session, and without any action on the part of the attendee.

Who are the Instructors?

Sessions are presented by some of the best known anglers in the region including NJ Angler staffers, charter captains, professional fishing guides, industry leaders, and others. Bill Donovan, Darren Dorris, Capt. Gene Quigley, Pete Barrett, Capt. Dave Azar, Capt. Harvey Yenkinson, Capt. Steve Purul and many others will eagerly teach you what they know.

When are the sessions held?

Sessions commence on Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 and will run on a weekly or bi-weekly basis indefinitely. High-demand webinars will run on multiple nights. The schedule is always available by clicking here.

What is the subject matter?

Webinars will be produced for almost every fishing topic imaginable. You’ll learn about fishing for stripers, fluke, bluefish, weakfish, sea bass, blackfish, sharks, tuna, billfish, trout, and bass. Plus you’ll be able to gain valuable insight into industry trends and even participate in manufacturers’ product launches. There’s almost no limit to the topics that will be presented.

How long are the classes?

Most webinars will last about 90 minutes, although they’ll vary by topic and speaker, sometimes substantially so.

Are the classes interactive?

Yes. Although only the presenter or presenters will be able to talk, attendees can type questions into a special Q&A form, and the instructors will answer them periodically. Many sessions will contain polls and other constructs that engage the audience.

Are there door prizes?

Of course! Periodically, we’ll randomly select winners from the list of attendees and mail or email the prizes directly to the winners.

What does it cost?

Although costs may vary by session, they’ll never break your bank account. The introductory rate is $9.99 per session. That’s less than the cost of a dozen bloodworms or a few live spot!

How do I register?

Signing up couldn’t be easier. At your leisure, click here to view a session schedule, where you can register in advance for whatever session or sessions you’d like. After entering your credit card information, you’ll be sent an email invitation with a web link and password that you’ll use to “enter” the class when its date/time rolls around. It’s that simple!

Is there a limit to the number of attendees?

Yes. The class sizes are limited to 100 attendees at a time, so it makes sense to register early. For high-demand sessions that fill up quickly, we’ll always try to schedule additional sessions on that topic.
