Come Fish the 7th Annual NJ Angler Classic!
Join us on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at beautiful Island Beach State Park in Ocean County, New Jersey for the seventh annual New Jersey Angler Magazine Classic surf fishing tournament to benefit the Recreational Fishing Alliance. With a format designed to please both serious surfcasters and novices alike, a date specifically chosen to coincide with some of the year’s best fishing, and a list of prizes that must be seen to be believed, this tournament has become one of the most eagerly-awaited events on the 2008 fishing calendar.
Participants may fish by any legal means, and in any legal areas within park boundaries, including over 8 miles of unspoiled beach, the famous North Jetty at Barnegat Inlet, and the quiet bay waters behind the island. Beach driving is permitted for beach buggy permit holders and kayak fishing is allowed in accordance with park rules.
In addition to a special grand prize for the largest fish, prizes will be awarded for the largest striped bass, bluefish, and black drum, and there will be separate fly rod and children’s categories, as well. Coffee and refreshments will be served throughout the day and a hot buffet dinner will be provided at the award ceremony. Plus, all participants will take home a tournament t-shirt.
Perhaps best of all, all proceeds go to a great cause - the Recreational Fishing Alliance. Register using the downloadable form below, or sign up via credit card by calling our office toll free at (877) NJ-Angler. We'll see you there!
